11/7
Today Brandon and Jaclyn were not at the dig site, so that left Bethany and I to do all the work. Really all that happened today was just a minor cleanup session for our remaining dirt on the surface. yay!
11/5- Moving the dirt
Today was another very unfortunate day to be at our square as well. In our square there was a lot of run off dirt that rolled down the slope in our square that we had to remove. This was an extremely fun experience. NOT! Anyways Brandon and I also were finding bricks along the way that we did not find the day before.
11/4
Today was one of the less enjoyable days out at the dig site. The reason for this is that everytime we would try an find a brick, they were no where to be found. This was bad news because we had to find them all. As a result of this Brandon and I had to pick around 3-4 feet into the earth to find them. we eventually found all of them but it was a unfortunate experience..

Above is a picture of part of the wall that we had uncovered.
monday 11/3

Post hurricane mound
After Hurricane Ike slapped us in the face, the mound in which we participate in archaeology was extremely weathered. all the sandy dirt became weathered and was washed away from the mound uncovering some new artifacts, such as a statue.
Brandon's Fear
Brandon if fearful of my authoritative power it is so humorous, as seen by his recent blog entry.

Mrs. Thames
Today we all found out that Mr. Thames' wife was diagnosed with meningitis. We were waiting on results of a spinal tap to find out if she had the viral or the bacterial form of the infection. By God's grace she had the ladder of the two, being the viral form, which should pass sooner than the bacterial form. we are all happy that she will turn out okay.
Workin' dem hoes
Today we found that as deeper we go into the soil, the harder the soil is to guffa and sift. Getting the dirt into the guffa is now a problem, for it is much harder to use the hoes to move all the dirt into them. soon we should be able to see a detailed stratigraphy..
The Wall
Today we found a wall splitting our square horizontally and another wall intersecting it against the balk on the north western side.. after thinking about it, we realized that it is part of the same wall that is in Chris Miller's square.
Fruit Break
Mr. Thames in his ultimate wisdom, decided it would be great for parents to bring fruit for the students to have on long days. This usually is what we look forward to during those long days, but this past day, no parents came and it was not good...
Predictions
The Jeweled Bracelet
today Brandon and i were annihilating the ground with pickaxes and i got it stuck on a large piece of clay. so i then ripped the clay up from the ground. and as soon as i pulled up the rock i glanced up and saw the look on Mr. Thames' face, like he just found out the Santa was real, and on the other side of the clay rock was a "jeweled" bracelet. so after a few woah woah woahs and chris miller chuckling in the background. we had found the bracelet.
Square Leader
Today i was appointed to square leader by Bethany and now i get to boss people around.. sorry zach.. i dont really know what to do but bethany is still around so she can tell me how to do everything.
